“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

KARIEGA Game Reserve

February 26-29, 2012
We left our hotel to make our way to the airport in the morning. Our flight left to go to Port Elizabeth. We had an hour and a half drive to the game reserve. Upon arriving, we made our way to our cabin. It was so nice and big, looking out into the hills covered with trees and plants. The days went on a schedule where we got a 6am wake up call with coffee and muffins at 6:30. Our morning game drive from 7-10am, coming back for breakfast. Our afternoons were free. We had our evening game drive from 4-7pm and coming back for dinner. The time was so relaxing. One afternoon we were able to ride elephants that was an hour drive away. Some high-lights of the game drive: a baby elephant charged the front of our jeep, we saw a lion get up and roar (they were sleeping most of the day), and saw two rhinoceros attempting to have sex.

Sunset and wine with our ranger, Juan.

Chris riding the elephant.

After our elephant rides.

3 baby cubs climbing the tree.

An elephant from a distance with another jeep.

Jennifer-- She was scared of the Giraffe.
